MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Agung Danarto stated that Muhammadiyah is open to working with all groups to contribute to national progress. He reaffirmed the movement’s inclusive approach.
“Muhammadiyah is always open to collaboration, including with Golkar,” said Agung in the visit of Golkar Party Chairperson to Madrasah Muallimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta on Monday, March 10. Agung emphasized that the movement, founded by Ahmad Dahlan in 1912, has always been committed to cooperation for the greater good.
Agung highlighted Muhammadiyah strong network of skilled individuals actively contributing to various fields, including politics. He noted that political parties like Golkar could tap into this potential by engaging Muhammadiyah talented members to help drive national development.
Agung also offered prayers for Indonesia to become Baldatun Thayyibatun wa Rabbun Ghaffur ([Yours is] a good land and a forgiving Lord).
Muhammadiyah thoughtful approach to opportunities is evident in its decision-making process. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia shared his experience of offering mining concessions to religious organizations, including Muhammadiyah.
“Muhammadiyah did not just accept offers right away. They took the time to verify everything carefully. Only after I provided a detailed explanation of both the benefits and risks did they reach a decision,” said Bahlil.
