MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, PAKISTAN – The Special Branch Board of Muhammadiyah (PCIM) Pakistan successfully held the 113th Muhammadiyah Anniversary Reception on Sunday (30/11) at Orange Lake Resort, Khanpur Dam, Pakistan. The event took place shortly after PCIM Pakistan concluded its 2025 Baitul Arqam program earlier that morning.
The reception was attended by several staff members from the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Islamabad and hundreds of Indonesian students currently studying in Pakistan.
Students from various other countries also joined the celebration, adding to the festive atmosphere that highlighted the spirit of togetherness and the global role of Muhammadiyah’s dakwah and intellectual contributions.
The event opened with a series of cultural performances by Indonesian cadres and students. Three main performances drew the attention of the guests: the Saman Dance, an Angklung ensemble, and a Tapak Suci performance. The showcases reflected the richness of Indonesian culture that continues to thrive abroad.
Moving into the main session, participants attended an intellectual seminar featuring Ferry Junigwan Murdiansyah, Coordinator of the Political Function at the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad. His presentation, titled “Reflecting on Muhammadiyah’s Anniversary: A Light from Indonesia for the World,” emphasized the importance of Muhammadiyah ass a movement of enlightenment on both national and international stages.
Ferry highlighted Muhammadiyah’s contributions to education, humanitarian efforts, and social diplomacy, areas that have helped the organization deliver meaningful global impact.
The seminar continued interactively with a question and answer session involving participants from diverse backgrounds. Their enthusiasm demonstrated the strong interest in Muhammadiyah’s thought and contributions in navigating the challenges of the modern world.
The entire event lasted approximately five hours. The 113th Muhammadiyah Anniversary Reception is hoped to strengthen the bonds among Indonesian diaspora in Pakistan while reinforcing the spirit of dakwah and collaboration within PCIM Pakistan. (Bintang Adrian)
