MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MECCA – Muhammadiyah partnered with an-Naba’ al-Azhim. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on innovative approaches to Quranic learning, particularly for the younger generations such as millennials, generation Z, and generation alpha.
“This partnership is crucial for our preachers, especially in enhancing their capacity to face the challenges of digital-age da’wa,” said the Chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Council for Religious Preaching Fathurrahman Kamal.
The partnership will specifically focus on the “Five Ts” method of Quranic study: tamhid (thematic introduction), tilawah (recitation with devotion), tafsir (overall interpretation), tadabbur (deep contemplation), and tazkiyah (internalization and practical application). Muhammadiyah preachers will undergo specialized training conducted by expert trainers from al-Naba’ al-Azhim, a subsidiary of al-Burhan.
Muhammadiyah will recruit preachers for specialized training conducted by competent instructors from the an-Naba’ al-Azhim.
“This training will be conducted for approximately six months and is for novice preachers. It will be held in collaboration with Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah higher education institutions and the Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development,” said Fathurrahman.
The agreement with an-Naba’ al-Azhim was signed during the visit by representatives of the Muhammadiyah Council for Religious Teaching to the Foundation of Al-Burhan li Khidmati as-Sunnah wa al-Quran, Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Muhammadiyah representatives met with the foundation’s leaders, researchers, and content creators.
Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of al-Naba’ al-Azhim expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “May the heavy rain that is pouring over the Kaaba this evening be a sign of blessing for the agreement we have signed near the Kaaba.”
