MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah warmly welcomed the visit of the Ambassador of the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta on Thursday, November 7. Both parties explored potential collaborations on education, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and healthcare.
Secretary of Muhammadiyah Izzul Muslimin expressed enthusiasm about the potential for cooperation with Malaysia.
“We discussed a wide range of topics, and one of the key initiatives we plan to undertake is organizing a seminar in Malaysia focused on Buya Hamka. Buya Hamka is a highly respected figure in both Indonesia and Malaysia, and we believe that a seminar on his life and works will serve as a catalyst for closer cooperation between our two countries,” said Izzul.
Furthermore, both parties discussed the possibility of establishing a sister school program, which would involve student and teacher exchanges between schools in Indonesia and Malaysia.
“This program will provide students and teachers with the opportunity to learn from each other and foster a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures,” said Izzul.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Embassy’s Minister Hairul Reaza emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Indonesia and Malaysia.
“The purpose of my visit is to cultivate stronger ties between two countries. Muhammadiyah plays a significant role in Indonesia, and we hope to learn from its experiences and apply them in Malaysia,” he said.
Hairul expressed optimism about the potential for future collaborations.
“We hope to build upon this initial meeting and develop even stronger ties between Muhammadiyah and Malaysia. By working together, we can achieve great things,” said Hairul.
