Muhammadiyah views men and women have the same role in performing good deeds. Therefore, the ‘Aisyiyah da’wah should always be carried out since it is a means of women’s leadership to build civilization.
President of ‘Aisyiyah Salmah Orbayinah said that the roles of ‘Aisyiyah in ummah and nationhood may not vanish amidst the world’s challenges.
“Aisyiyah’s roles in community and humanity should always continue. Women and men are have equal responsibility to do good deeds,” said Salmah at the Ramadan Preaching 1444 H on ‘ Progressive Women’s Prophetic Leadership in Peace and Nationalism’ on Sunday (9/4).
Salmah mentioned that lasting da’wa requires the roles of Aisyiyah leaders and members.
“The da’wa relies on idealism and leadership of all Aisyiyah leaders and members,” said Salmah.
Thus, to achieve dynamic leadership requires transformative leadership within Aisyiyah and in the lives of the nation.
“The transformative leadership is in line with the spirit of Islam and uswah hasanah (the good example) of Prophet Muhammad making changes to create civilization,” said Salmah.
According to Salmah, transformative leadership referring to prophetic leadership in ‘Aisyiyah would lead ‘Aisyiyah to be more dynamic and innovative in developing enlightenment da’wah through Aisyiyah services and programs for the liberation, empowerment, and advancement of the people and the nation.
Therefore, ‘Aisyiyah leaders should always devote themselves to serving and carrying out organizational tasks for the development of the people and the nation and the establishment of human civilization.
