We pray for a smooth and successful construction process that will lead to the achievement of our shared goals,” said Secretary of Muhammadiyah Izzul Muslimin on Monday (June 24).
Izzul further emphasized Muhammadiyah commitment to using education as a tool to empower Indonesian human resources. He highlighted the organization’s impressive network of 172 Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah higher education institutions (PTMA) spread across the nation.
These institutions reach out to not only urban areas but also underserved communities in the underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions, They indicate Muhammadiyah inclusive approach to education.
“Muhammadiyah goes beyond establishing universities in urban areas. Our focus extends to regions that might be considered underdeveloped and remote regions. The UNIMOF stands as a prime example of this commitment,” said Izzul.
Furthermore, Head of Planning, Research, and Development of Baznas Prof. Zainulbahar Noor acknowledged Muhammadiyah significant contributions to education, particularly for the Muslims in Indonesia.
“On behalf of BAZNAS, we would like to extend our warm congratulations to PP Muhammadiyah and UNIMOF for organizing this event. We deeply appreciate Muhammadiyah immense contributions to education at all levels, from kindergarten to higher education,” said Zainulbahar.
Zainulbahar emphasized Indonesia’s critical need to enhance the quality and excellence of its human resources to achieve a more successful nation-building process.
“This is precisely why BAZNAS, through its education assistance program, strives to promote educational advancement and development. Our program offers support in two ways: by providing scholarships and by assisting with the construction and preparation of educational facilities,” said Zainulbahar.
Besides, UNIMOF Rector Erwin Prasetyo expressed his deepest gratitude for the financial aid. He elaborated that a grant of one billion rupiah would be used to construct a new building that will serve as an educational facility at UNIMOF.
“This grant from BAZNAS will be utilized to construct the Jasman Al Kindi Building. The building will have an area of approximately 1,300 square meters across and four floors, resulting in a total area of around 5,000 square meters. We are hopeful for a smooth construction process,” said Erwin.
