MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Modern families face a range of challenges, including declining marriage rates, rising divorce cases, growing support for a childfree lifestyle, and the persistent issue of child marriage. These trends highlight the urgent need to strengthen family resilience, especially in today’s digital era.
Secretary of ‘Aisyiyah Atiyatul Ulya emphasized that family resilience is not just a personal matter but a national priority, as it plays a crucial role in shaping a strong and prosperous society.
“Family resilience means building a peaceful and loving home where relationships are harmonious, well-being is ensured both materially and spiritually, and education remains a top priority,” explained Atiyatul in the Ramadan preaching on Saturday, March 15.
Atiyatul highlighted the “Tuntunan Menuju Keluarga Sakinah” (Guidelines for Building a Resilient Family), developed at the 28th Tarjih National Meeting, as a valuable reference in strengthening family relationships.
“This guide provides essential principles for creating strong families and is highly relevant for promoting stability at home,” stated Atiyatul.
However, Atiyatul acknowledged that putting these principles into practice remains a challenge. The key lies in developing the right strategies to ensure these values reach not only Muhammadiyah families but also the wider community.
Atiyatul called for collective efforts to implement the resilient family concept, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Muhammadiyah, various institutions, and government agencies. By working together, she believes that families can become more resilient, fostering a healthier and stronger society.
