MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, EGYPT – The Muhammadiyah Department for Charity Management (Lazismu), in collaboration with several Indonesian zakat organizations, reaffirms its commitment to humanitarian efforts by delivering aid to Palestinian people.
In partnership with Al-Khair Warehouse in Cairo, a major humanitarian initiative, Lazismu has prepared essential supplies, including hygiene kits, iftar meal packages, and winter aid such as tents, mattresses, and blankets. These items have been carefully packed and are ready for distribution.
Volunteers of Lazismu and other zakat organizations worked together to organize and pack the aid a thet Al-Khair warehouse. Despite their exhaustion, their dedication was evident as they arranged each package with care, knowing they were delivering more than just supplies. They were sending a message of love, hope, and solidarity from Indonesian Muslims to Palestinians in need.
Providing a Meaningful Iftar during Ramadan
Ramadan is a time of reflection and unity for Muslims worldwide. This year, Lazismu and its partners have launched an iftar aid program to ensure those struggling in Palestine can break their fast decently. Each iftar package contains essential food items, including rice, cooking oil, dates, and bottled water.
“We want to make sure that Ramadan remains a time of blessings, not only for those who are fortunate but also for our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are facing hardship,” said Ardi Lutfi Kautsar, Director of Utilization and Distribution of Lazismu, on Sunday, February 23.
Winter Aid: Providing Warmth and Protection
Alongside the iftar program, winter assistance remains a key priority. Sturdy tents, thick mattresses, and warm blankets have been prepared to help families endure harsh winter conditions. Refugees and those living in inadequate shelters face extreme challenges during winter, making these supplies crucial for survival.
“This is more than just aid. It’s a warm embrace from their brothers and sisters in Indonesia,” emphasized Ardi.
Humanitarian Collaboration: Strength in Unity
Lazismu is not working alone in this mission. It has partnered with various Indonesian zakat organizations and POROZ (Association of Zakat Management Organizations) to maximize its reach. This collaboration highlights how compassion transcends borders, bringing together people of different backgrounds in a shared humanitarian effort.
“We believe that the more hands involved, the greater the impact we can create,” added Ardi.
Spreading Empathy and Encouraging Generosity
This initiative is about more than just aid. It’s a call for global solidarity. It reminds Muslims everywhere to support and uplift one another. Every package sent reflects the generosity and compassion of Muslims and the Indonesian people.
As the afternoon call to prayer echoed in Cairo, volunteers gathered at the historic Amr Bin Ash Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the world, to pray for their Palestinian brothers and sisters. They hoped that their efforts would not only ease suffering but also inspire others to give.
As one ummah, we are united in purpose and compassion. May Ramadan 2025 bring blessings not only to those receiving aid but to everyone who contributes.
