MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Muhammadiyah, through the Muhammadiyah Scholarship Agency (MSA), continues its commitment to supporting national education through a new partnership with Maybank Syariah. Together, they have launched the Muhammadiyah-Maybank Student Loan program, a revolving fund designed to support students pursuing doctoral or professional degrees.
The Muhammadiyah Chairperson of Education, Culture, and Sports Irwan Akib emphasized the importance of inclusive education and expressed high hopes for the program’s long-term impact.
“Muhammadiyah universities are not only for members of Muhammadiyah but also are open to everyone. This initiative will help ease the financial burden for students who wish to pursue further education at the doctoral or professional level,” said Irwan.
MSA Director Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra explained that the student loan program introduces a new model of financial assistance, reflecting MSA’s commitment to supporting sustainable access to higher education.
“This program is one of our new approaches. It shows our dedication to ensuring that students, especially those in Muhammadiyah-‘Aisyiyah universities, can continue their education. We’ve received 80 applicants so far, and we aim to reach even more in the future,” said Irwan.
The program has also been warmly welcomed by Maybank Syariah. Romy Buchary, Director of Maybank Syariah Indonesia, expressed pride in the partnership and highlighted the broader impact of the initiative.
“This is a great and meaningful initiative. We are proud to be part of Muhammadiyah efforts, especially in strengthening education and contributing to social development,” said Romy.
With Muhammadiyah-‘Aisyiyah universities in Indonesia and overseas, the Muhammadiyah-Maybank Student Loan program is expected to grow and benefit more students in the years ahead.
