Muhammadiyah and Malaysian Organizations Explore Collaboration on Islamic Da’wa

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Malaysian organizations, Regional Development Community (RDC) Berhad and Myguide initiated a potential collaboration with Muhammadiyah, through the Muhammadiyah Department of Hajj and Umrah.

Conducted on Wednesday, October 2, at the Muhammadiyah office in Jakarta, their meeting focused on exploring partnerships for strategic planning in da’wa across Muslim minority countries in the Asia Pacific region and promoting the exchange of Islamic preachers..

The Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Department of Hajj and Umrah Marjuki welcomed the collaboration. He noted the similarities in the challenges faced by both Muhammadiyah and Malaysian Islamic organizations in their da’wa efforts.

“The challenges we face in da’wa are similar, considering that we are from the same region. It is important for us to collaborate, support each other, and share knowledge to build a stronger da’wa,” Marjuki said.

Marjuki further elaborated on the potential joint programs, including joint training, da’wa visits, and the exchange of da’is.

“Our immediate plans include joint training, dawah visits, the exchange of Islamic preachers, and discussions on dawah concepts, sharing models, and approaches to mentoring businesses for dawah development,” he added.

Meanwhile, Executive Chairperson of the RDC Berhad Nicholas Sylvester expressed admiration for Muhammadiyah extensive da’wa network and its significant impact in Indonesia.

“We are very pleased with the warm welcome from the Central Board of Muhammadiyah. The discussions we had were very interesting. The vast network and work of Muhammadiyah can be an inspiration for us to develop,” said Nicholas.

Nicholas also mentioned their plans to participate in several forums and conferences in the future, including regional da’wa programs and the Borneo Da’wa Conference.

“We hope that with Muhammadiyah extensive network and the common challenges faced in da’wa, Muhammadiyah and RDC can synergize in sharing knowledge, expanding networks, and growing together towards a better future,” said Nicholas.

This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the collaboration between Muhammadiyah, RDC Berhad, and Myguide in promoting Islamic da’wa in the Asia Pacific region. It is expected that this cooperation will lead to positive and sustainable impacts for Muslims, particularly in the region.
