MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, PAKISTAN – Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah special branches (PCIM and PCIA) have three key roles as representatives of Indonesia overseas.
“First, the branches serve to foster a sense of brotherhood among Indonesians in Pakistan. I believe that the bond among our diasporas is exceptionally strong, and the existence of these branches is essential to maintaining that connection,” said Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Agung Danarto in the inauguration of the leadership of PCIM and PCIA of Pakistan on Saturday, October 12.
Second, Agung stressed the crucial role of these branches in developing future leaders.
“The primary function of PCIM and PCIA is to nurture future leaders. These branches should create a conducive environment to learning and growth, enabling members to acquire knowledge and skills that will benefit them in the future,” said Agung.
Agung added that the goal is to cultivate individuals who can become scholars and leaders in their respective fields.
“Members of the PCIM and PCIA of Pakistan should strive to become scholars and future leaders. They should focus on their studies and demonstrate their capabilities,” he said.
Third, Agung highlighted the role of these branches as ambassadors for Muhammadiyah.
“PCIM and PCIA members should become ambassadors of Muhammadiyah. I encourage all members to build as many networks as possible in Pakistan. The networking indicates the success of PCIM and PCIA as representatives of Muhammadiyah in Pakistan,” said Agung.
Agung also hoped that the members of these branches would return to Indonesia as accomplished individuals who can contribute meaningfully to their nation.
“I hope that upon your return to Indonesia, you will not be ordinary individuals but leaders who can make a real difference. Congratulations on the inauguration of PCIM and PCIA of Pakistan. I hope that your efforts will bring about positive changes and benefits for the community and the nation,” expressed Agung.
