MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Turkey during a recent meeting between the Muhammadiyah Chairperson Syafiq Mughni and Turkish Ambassador to Indonesia Talip Küçükcan at the Turkish Embassy in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 10.
During the meeting, both parties discussed a wide range of issues such as the Islamic world and potential areas of cooperation between Turkey and Muhammadiyah.
“We hope to enhance the existing cooperation between Turkey and Muhammadiyah, particularly in the realms of Islamic studies, scientific advancement, and joint programs. We aim for more tangible and larger-scale collaborations” said Syafiq.
Muhammadiyah has expressed its readiness to collaborate with Turkey in various fields, including education, healthcare, and efforts to advance the Islamic world and modern civilization on a global scale.
Syafiq highlighted Turkey as an ideal model for the harmonious coexistence of Islam and modernity, capable of competing with developed European nations.
“Muhammadiyah has had extensive communications and collaborations with Turkey for a long time, and this reaffirms the need to strengthen our relations,” said Syafiq.
Both Turkey and Indonesia possess significant potential to unite the Islamic world, which has experienced divisions in recent times.
“Turkey and Indonesia need to play a role in reuniting the Islamic world,” said Syafiq.
