MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MALANG – A faculty member at the Department of Industrial Engineering of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Dana Marsetiya Utama has been recognized on the World’s Top 2% of Scientists list by Elsevier and Stanford University.
Dana has been actively engaged in international research since 2019. This certification was awarded to approximately 150,000 researchers globally, with 150 researchers from Indonesia making the list.
Dana was categorized under nuclear and particle physics. Dana’s research mainly focuses on more efficient energy management. His research has been widely cited due to its significance and potential impact on future studies.
Dana explained that his passion for research stems from his dream of becoming a lecturer. He believes that lecturers should uphold the three pillars of higher education: teaching, research, and community service.
“Research findings can be integrated into teaching, providing students with new perspectives and insights,” said Dan in a press release on Sunday, September 29.
He expressed deep gratitude and pride for this achievement, acknowledging that only a handful of researchers make it to this list. Even some universities in Malang may not have such representation. This recognition shows UMM’ high-quality human resources and its ability to compete on a global scale.
Despite this significant accomplishment, Dana remains driven to continue his research and apply it to real-world problems. He hopes that his research will have a tangible impact on society and industry.
“I hope that my ideas and research can be truly implemented in society and industry, not only in theory but also in practice. I hope other UMM lecturers can achieve this recognition in the future,” said Dana.
