MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah reinforced its relations with Tunisia through the visit of the Muhammadiyah Chairperson Syafiq Mughni to the Tunisian Embassy in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 11.
Warmly welcomed by the Tunisian Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Mr. Mohamed Trabelsi, the visit aimed to foster closer relations between Muhammadiyah and Tunisia and explore potential areas of cooperation, particularly in the field of education.
“We need to collaborate, especially between Muhammadiyah Siber University and Tunisian educational institutions, to conduct virtual academic activities,” said Syafiq.
Syafiq also invited the Tunisian Ambassador to visit Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah educational institutions.
“I believe this is a crucial opportunity to enhance the quality and quantity of Muhammadiyah cadres who deeply study Islam from various countries, especially Tunisia,” said Syafiq.
Potential areas of cooperation include student and faculty exchange programs, Arabic language development for Muhammadiyah educators, and humanitarianism and human resource development programs.
“The collaboration between Tunisian and Muhammadiyah universities enables both parties to develop the Islamic world,” said Syafiq.
Tunisia and Indonesia share a common commitment to wasathiyah moderate Islam.
“Thus, Muslims and the Islamic world should not only be moderate but also advance in education, science and technology, economics, and various other fields,” said Syafiq.
