MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SURAKARTA – The General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti delivered a powerful message on the organization’s pursuit of prosperity. Mu’ti emphasized that the prosperity Muhammadiyah seeks extends beyond material wealth to encompass spiritual fulfillment.
Citing Surah Ar-Rum verse 9, Mu’ti stated that true prosperity is one that encompasses all aspects of life. He warned against the pitfalls of pursuing worldly gains at the expense of spiritual growth, referencing the numerous civilizations that have fallen due to their excessive focus on material wealth.
The Secretary General highlighted the importance of leadership in achieving prosperity. Drawing on the example of the Prophet Muhammad,
“Leaders must be close to their people, understanding their needs and speaking their language,” said Mu’ti in the preaching at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta on Sunday, December 12.
He also condemned elitism and corruption, asserting that these vices hinder a nation’s progress.
Mu’ti further outlined the essential conditions for achieving prosperity, including freedom, unity, sovereignty, and justice. He highlighted the importance of education in ensuring that all citizens have equal opportunities to succeed.
In line with his role as the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Mu’ti reiterated the ministry’s vision of providing quality education for all. He emphasized the need for education to be affordable, accessible, and inclusive.
