MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SLEMAN – President of Muhammadiyah inaugurated the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping on Monday, November 18.
“Muhammadiyah is always striving to improve our healthcare facilities. The CCC is one of our efforts,” said Haedar.
Muhammadiyah health institutions have been attempting to foster healthcare facilities to benefit wider communities. They make the healthcare services accessible to many people and expect that the services contribute to achieve the vision of the Golden Indonesia (Indonesia Emas) 2045.
Haedar emphasized the need for fundamental changes in education and healthcare to achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision.
“Our Human Development Index is still low compared to other countries, even in ASEAN,” said Haedar.
He urged for a more compassionate approach from the nation’s elite, calling on them to address the pressing needs of the people rather than indulging in a hedonistic lifestyle.
Addressing the shortage of doctors in Indonesia, Haedar called for a more collaborative approach, urging all stakeholders to set aside their differences. He emphasized the importance of fostering a spirit of cooperation to tackle this pressing issue.
Haedar encouraged Muhammadiyah to continue developing various services, including healthcare, education, and social welfare, while ensuring that these developments benefit the wider community.
“Let’s not be afraid of developing our potential. Let’s ensure that our development is not destructive, but rather constructive,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital dr. Ahmad Faesol explained that the inauguration coincided with the 112th anniversary of Muhammadiyah.
The CCC is part of the hospital’s strategic development plan and also aims to address priority health issues, including cancer, heart and blood vessel diseases, stroke, urology, and maternal and child health. This is also aligned with the government’s priority health programs.
“PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping is a private hospital which offers heart surgeries, comprehensive cancer center, a radiotherapy center whose groundbreaking has begun since one and a half years ago and equipped with advanced medical equipment,” said dr. Ahmad Faesol.
“We plan to build a stroke center, Insya Allah,” added dr. Ahmad Faesol.
With the addition of the CCC, PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital aims to improve healthcare services and benefit a wider community.
