The groundbreaking ceremony of the teaching hospital was led by President of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir on Tuesday, December 3.
In his speech, Haedar emphasized that the teaching hospital construction is a collaborative effort of Muhammadiyah.
“We, the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, together with the Muhammadiyah Provincial Board and the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Kupang, are proud to mark this important milestone with the groundbreaking of the Teaching Hospital. Haedar pointed out that, although Muhammadiyah is well-known for its autonomy, this movement welcomes collaboration. He expressed hope that the construction of this hospital would involve many different parties.
“We believe that the spirit of Muhammadiyah for Indonesia, supported by the government, entrepreneurs, communities and elements of Muhammadiyah, will contribute to the establishment of this hospital,” said Haedar.
Regarding the theme of the 112th Anniversary of Muhammadiyah and the 1st Tanwir National Meeting following the 48th Muhammadiyah Congress (Muktamar), “Bringing Prosperity for All,” Haedar highlighted that this is not just a future goal, but Muhammadiyah has been working toward and will continue to achieve it.
Furthermore, Haedar expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the people of Kupang for hosting the Tanwir National Meeting and for being a place where Muhammadiyah has been able to grow and contribute to building a more advanced Indonesia.
“On behalf of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, I would like to thank everyone in Kupang who has supported Muhammadiyah efforts to help build this nation,” said Haedar.
