Muhammadiyah Will Establish an Islamic Da’wa Center in Malaysia

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MALAYSIA – Muhammadiyah was established in Yogyakarta but can expand its da’wa in other regions, such as Makassar and Padang, and other countries as Malaysia.

The establishment of the Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) in Malaysia marks a significant expansion of Muhammadiyah’s da’wa. Therefore, after the successful establishment of Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM), the movement aims to establish an Islamic da’wa center in Malaysia.

“There is no need to wait for fifty years to establish a da’wa center,” said the Chairman of Muhammadiyah dr. Agus Taufiqqurahman at the inauguration of the Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah Special Branch at International Islamic University Malaysia, Gombak, Selangor, on Sunday (4/6). Indeed, SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo generously donated 1 billion rupiahs towards the construction of the da’wa center.

The da’wa center construction plan was stated by the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Malaysia 2023-2025 Muhammad Ali Imran in his inauguration. He said the PCIM has been established for ten years, so it’s time to build a da’wa center.

In addition to the donation from SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo, Ali Imran encouraged Muhammadiyah members to raise funds, so the construction could be undertaken soon.

Ali Imran also mentioned that members of the Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Malaysia should always go together and has progressive characters to play roles in this civilization.

Moreover, the da’wa center will strengthen Muhammadiyah da’wa, which has previously been performed through UMAM, TK Aisyiyah (a kindergarten), and Sanggar Belajar (a learning center).

Since the number of Muhammadiyah Malaysia members is greater than those of other Muhammadiyah special branches, they can potentially carry out many plans.

Besides, the Muhammadiyah special branches serve as a means to foster relationships among Indonesians living overseas and act as ambassadors for the nation and the movement, benefiting others and inspiring Muhammadiyah members in Indonesia.
