MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Muhammadiyah had a meeting with various Taiwanese institutions to discuss collaboration on Tuesday, October 1. This meeting aimed to follow up on the draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Taiwan and Muhammadiyah, focusing on four key areas: education, the transfer of green technology, carbon credit trading, and the establishment of a science park.
The meeting was attended by Muhammadiyah and Taiwanese institution leaders, such as the Muhammadiyah Chairpersons Agung Danarto and Agus Taufiqurrohman, the Muhammadiyah Secretary Muhammad Sayuti, the Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Hizbul Wathan Scouts and Nugraha Hadi Kusuma, the CEO of PT. Emliku Fred Kuo; the Chairman of Green Energy Mr. Cheng, and a representative from National Cheng Kung University Prof. Wang. Several representatives from related companies and organizations were also present.
This collaboration signifies Muhammadiyah commitment to sustainable and progressive development. Improvements in education, green technology, carbon credit trading, and science parks can contribute to the development of the nation through a more sustainable, innovative, and globally competitive approach. Together, these elements can help the country achieve balanced, inclusive, and sustainable growth.
The Muhammadiyah Chairperson Agus Taufiqurrahman expressed Muhammadiyah enthusiasm for collaboration. This movement welcomes partnerships that can bring about positive change. He hoped that this collaboration would have a significant impact on Muhammadiyah and the broader community.
The Chairperson of Green Energy Mr. Cheng emphasized the importance of continuous learning and innovation in achieving sustainable development, given the rapid pace of technological advancements. He also expressed Taiwan’s willingness to collaborate with Indonesia to achieve mutual progress.
Besides, Mrs. Lin further highlighted Taiwan’s openness to Indonesian citizens seeking employment or education.
“We warmly welcome all Indonesian people who want to work and study in Taiwan. We are always ready to help. I hope this discussion will be mutually beneficial and successful,” said Mrs. Lin.
