The Muhammadiyah Chairperson Highlights Leadership Essentials at PCIM Tunisia Inauguration

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, TUNISIA – The Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Syafiq A. Mughni highlighted that the development of an organization relies on its leader.

“A leader essentially has two main essential roles, namely to accommodate the aspirations of the members and to enlighten and advance them,” said Syafiq in the inauguration of the Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Tunisia 2024-2026 on  Sunday, November 17.

During his speech, Syafiq also highlighted three key aspects of effective leadership: motivation, vision, and technical skills.

Regarding motivation, Syafiq stressed the importance of a strong drive and resilience in leaders.

“Leaders should possess a strong motivation to advance the organization they lead, and they should not easily give up or lose direction,” he said.

Syafiq also discussed the significance of having a broad perspective.

“I am delighted to see the enthusiasm for studying among students in the Middle East. Studying abroad allows students to interact not only with other Indonesians but also with local communities and to learn their culture. This experience broadens their horizons and makes them more open-minded,” said Syafiq.

Syafiq, then, emphasized the importance of technical skills and teamwork.

“In an organization, it is impossible to find people who are completely without weaknesses. That’s why, in leadership, we should be able to complement each other and leverage our skills and expertise to advance the organization together,” he explained.

Furthermore, Syafiq expected that the inauguration of the new leadership of the PCIM Tunisia brings new hope for the growth of Muhammadiyah da’wa efforts on the international stage, particularly in Tunisia. With this new leadership, it is expected that PCIM Tunisia will continue to be a driving force for Muhammadiyah da’wa, adapting to new challenges and making significant contributions to both the Indonesians in Tunisia and the international community.
