MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID. SLEMAN – Shofal Jamil, a lecturer at the Physiotherapy program of Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta, has been appointed as the Head Physiotherapist for the Indonesian Amputee Football Association (PSAI), known as Garuda INAF.
Shofal will play a crucial role in supporting the Indonesian National Amputee Football Team throughout the player selection process, training camps, and the upcoming 1st Asian Amputee Football Championship in Kerala, India. Amputee football is a specialized sport for athletes with physical disabilities.
As an adaptive sports physiotherapist and a supervisor of physiosport at UNISA Yogyakarta, Shofal possesses the expertise needed to support the team’s performance and recovery. His involvement is expected to significantly benefit the Indonesian amputee football team.
Joining Shofal are three physiotherapy students from UNISA Yogyakarta who are currently undergoing a sports placement: Nurul Fikri Wulandari, Hinda Annida Khoirina, and Dwi Rinawati. Their combined expertise will further strengthen the team’s support staff.
Meanwhile, Head of the Physiotherapy program UNISA Yogyakarta Hilmi Zadah Faidullah was proud of Shofal.
“His appointment demonstrates the quality of education and training provided by the Physiotherapy program at UNISA Yogyakarta,” said Hilmi in a press release on Monday, August 26.
The collaboration between UNISA Yogyakarta and the Indonesian Amputee Football Association is a positive step towards promoting the development of amputee football in Indonesia.
