MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, PAKISTAN – The Special Branch Board of Muhammadiyah Pakistan (PCIM Pakistan) organized a Grand Opening on Muhammadiyah’s 113th Anniversary (Milad) on Saturday (11/10), taking place on the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Islamabad.
The Grand Opening is also attended by officials of the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad, PCIM and PCIA Pakistan members, as well as Indonesian students currently pursuing their studies in the International Islamic University of Islamabad (IIUI).
In a warm and familial atmosphere, the event served as a crucial moment to reaffirm the spirit of da’wah (Islamic propagation), education, and humanitarian work as inherited from Muhammadiyah’s founder, K.H. Ahmad Dahlan.
Despite the dynamic situation outside the embassy, with demonstrations taking place in Islamabad, the event proceeded in an orderly and solemn manner. The program began with opening remarks by the master of ceremony, recitation of the Holy Qur’an, and speeches from the organizing committee and embassy representatives.
The event continued with a historical reflection session on Muhammadiyah’s role both in Indonesia and on the international stage. The atmosphere grew livelier with a performance from Tapak Suci Muhammadiyah martial arts.
Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma, Functional Officer for Information and Socio Cultural Affairs, expressed his support for the event and reminded the audience of Muhammadiyah’s international da’wah efforts. He also reiterated the three work ethics of Muhammadiyah as articulated by Muhammadiyah Central Board President Haedar Nashir, one of which is “less talk, do more.”
The grand opening of Muhammadiyah 113th Milad in Islamabad stood as a symbol of the resilience and commitment of Muhammadiyah members abroad, showing that da’wah and good deeds transcend geographical and situational boundaries.
Through this celebration, PCIM Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to spreading the values of Islam Berkemajuan (Progressive Islam) wherever they are, and to making the 113th Milad a reminder to the importance of da’wah that enlightens and bring joy to the world. (Bintang Adrian)
