MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah welcomed a visit from Sadullah Baloch, Head of Mission of the Afghan Embassy in Jakarta, on Thursday, June 26. The visit took place at the Muhammadiyah headquarters and aimed to discuss opportunities for cooperation between Afghanistan and the organization.
The Afghan embassy delegates were welcomed by Muhammadiyah Chairperson of International Relations and Cooperation, along with representatives the Muhammadiyah Department for International and Cooperation (LHKI), the Muhammadiyah Council for Public Health (MPKU), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA.
The discussion focused on possible collaborations in education, healthcare, and politics. Syafiq said that Muhammadiyah was open to building partnerships that could benefit both sides, especially through its network of schools, universities, and hospitals.
“One of the Ambassador’s main interests was learning how Muhammadiyah manages its educational and healthcare institutions. They are particularly interested in how we run our schools, universities, and hospitals,” said Syafiq.
He also encouraged Muslim-majority countries to pay greater attention to Afghanistan by opening diplomatic missions and building stronger relations.
“We hope other Muslim nations will also establish official relations with Afghanistan and open embassies there,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Sadullah Baloch expressed his appreciation for Muhammadiyah and shared hopes for future collaboration in education, student exchange, and healthcare. He said these areas could help strengthen relations and benefit the broader Muslim community.
“We hope this relationship will grow stronger. One of the key areas we’d like to work on is improving healthcare,” said Sadullah Baloch.
