MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, BANGGAI – The ‘Aisyiyah Regency Board of Banggai won the Civil Society Organization (CSO) category at Indonesia’s SDGs Action Awards 2024, as announced by the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) on Monday, October 7.
President of ‘Asiyiyah Salmah Orbayinah expressed her pride and appreciation for this achievement.
“This first-place award indicates the tangible efforts of ‘Aisyiyah members across Indonesia, especially those working directly with grassroots. One of the examples is the work done by ‘Aisyiyah Banggai, which has provided support in education and economic development for the indigenous Loinang tribe in the remote Tombiobong district of Banggai Regency,” Salmah said on Monday, October 7th.
Salmah also hoped that this award would motivate leaders and members of ‘Aisyiyah nationwide.
“The quiet work done by ‘Aisyiyah has brought significant progress for those in need,” she stated.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the ‘Aisyiyah Regency Board of Banggai Ernita explained that the regency board has been implementing various programs to empower the indigenous Loinang tribe in Tombiobong, including economic development, education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and the construction of water facilities and micro-hydroelectric power plants. These initiatives were supported by Lazismu and other organizations.
“We have successfully implemented these programs in Tombiobong. This achievement is also due to the contributions of our previous chair, Ibu Sri Moxa Djalamang, and our secretary, Ibu Nurhaidah,” said Ernita.
Ernita added that the award is the pride for the ‘Aisyiyah Regency Board of Banggai, as it signifies government recognition through Bappenas for their efforts in remote areas like Tombiobong. She also hoped that this recognition would inspire others to contribute to sustainable development in remote regions of Indonesia.
