MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – The Muhammadiyah Department (Lazismu) partnered with PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) to enhance the digital payment system for Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) through the MyBCA application. The agreement was signed at the Muhammadiyah headquarter, Jakarta, on Friday, March 21.
The signing ceremony was attended by Muhammadiyah Chairperson Muhadjir Effendy, Secretary Izzul Muslimin, Lazismu Chairperson Ahmad Imam Mujadid Rais, and President Director of BCA Antonius Widodo Mulyono.
BCA and Muhammadiyah had previously cooperated. They worked together in education and media, including the production of “Ir. Djuanda: Pemersatu Laut Indonesia”, a film about national hero Ir. Djuanda.
Muhadjir Effendy highlighted that BCA, as Indonesia’s largest private bank, is an ideal partner for Muhammadiyah, which ranks among the world’s top religious philanthropic organizations.
“With Muhammadiyah potential, we are committed to expanding partnerships, especially in strengthening the economic sector, as outlined in the 47th Muhammadiyah Congress (Muktamar) in Makassar in 2015,” said Muhadjir.
Meanwhile, Lazismu Chairperson Mujadid Rais emphasized the importance of this collaboration in making ZIS contributions more accessible.
“MyBCA currently has over 8 million users and more than 40 million registered accounts. By integrating Lazismu into MyBCA, we’re taking a strategic step to expand our reach and make it easier for people to fulfill their ZIS obligations,” explained Mujadid Rais.
Besides, President Director of BCA Antonius Widodo Mulyono noted that BCA has long supported Muhammadiyah in education. Now, by integrating ZIS payments into MyBCA, the bank aims to strengthen Indonesia’s charitable giving ecosystem with a secure and convenient digital platform.
This partnership allows users to make Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah payments easily through MyBCA, encouraging greater public participation in charity. The initiative is expected to support Muhammadiyah social and humanitarian programs while fostering a broader movement for community and national welfare.
