MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, CAMBODIA – Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Syafiq Mughni took the opportunity to visit the Muhammadiyah Center of Cambodia during his visit to Cambodia for the Islam-Buddhism Summit.
Muhammadiyah has established a strong international presence through its special branches (PCIM) and sister organizations. The Muhammadiyah Center of Cambodia is one such institution, part of a broader network that includes sister organizations in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, and Mauritius.
Visit to Trapaing Thmor Primary School
On Thursday, February 27, Syafiq visited Trapaing Thmor Primary School, which serves as the Muhammadiyah Center of Cambodia. He observed the learning environment and encouraged the students with a message of hope and perseverance.
“We hope this school continues to grow and succeed. The children here should become individuals who honor their parents, contribute to society, and engage in good deeds, leading to a fulfilling life for all,” said Syafiq.
Syafiq also expressed appreciation for the teachers’ dedication to educating the students.
“We sincerely thank the teachers for their hard work in guiding these children. May their efforts be rewarded with endless blessings,” added Syafiq.
Located in Thmey Village, Popeal Commune, Ponhea Krek District, Tbong Khmum Province, Trapaing Thmor Primary School was established by the local Muhammadiyah community.
Once an abandoned chicken farm, the site was transformed into a proper school through community efforts that began in 2013. Today, it provides quality education and better opportunities for children in the area.
Syafiq’s visit, along with his participation in the Islam-Buddhism Summit, reflects Muhammadiyah commitment to fostering international relationships and expanding its outreach. His presence serves as an inspiration for the local community to continue striving for a knowledgeable and progressive Muslims.
