Indonesia Will Be the World’s 5th Largest Economy by 2045

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia has a demographic bonus, reaching its peak between 2025 and 2038. This crucial moment should be noticed so that Indonesia can avoid falling into the middle-income trap.

“The demographic bonus should also be offset by skilled humans mastering knowledge and technology,” said Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan at the National Insight seminar conducted by Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto on Friday (9/6).

The period from 2025 to 2038 is a pivotal point for Indonesia to usher in a golden era after 100 years of independence.

Indeed, Indonesia is projected to become the world’s 5th largest economy, and we fulfill the prerequisites to achieve that.

Thus, Zulkifli encouraged young generations, particularly students, to excel in science and technology since they are vital to transforming Indonesia into a developed country.

“May Indonesia reach its goal to be a developed country in 2045,” said Zulkifli.
