MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, EGYPT – As Ramadan approaches, Muhammadiyah Aid and Lazismu reaffirm their commitment to humanitarian efforts by joining the Joint Action for Palestine 2 program.
Organized by the Association of Zakat Management Organizations (POROZ), this initiative aims to support the people of Gaza, who are struggling due to prolonged conflict.
During a visit to a humanitarian warehouse in El Katameya, Egypt, on Sunday, February 23, Director of Utilization and Distribution of the Muhammadiyah Department for Charity Management (Lazismu) Ardi Lutfi Kautsar emphasized the importance of this mission. He stated that Lazismu is distributing aid from donors, both individuals and organizations, who have entrusted their contributions to the cause.
The assistance includes two tons of fresh vegetables, 50 tents, 480 winter clothing packages, 980 hygiene kits, 2,000 iftar meal packages, one water filtration plant, 1,980 blankets, and a portable toilet.
Ardi hoped this aid would reach thousands of Palestinians, especially those in the most vulnerable conditions.
The aid will be sent through Egypt in coordination with a humanitarian coalition to ensure efficient distribution.
The shipment is scheduled between February 20-28, 2025, with a delegation overseeing the process to guarantee it reaches those in need.
“We hope this assistance brings hope to our brothers and sisters in Gaza, who are facing immense hardship. This initiative reflects our commitment to humanitarian values and spreading blessings during Ramadan,” said Ardi.
