Nasyiatul Aisyiyah Plays a Vital Role in Advancing Family Resilience and Moral Integrity

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Busyro Muqoddas stated that Nasyiatul Aisyiyah, the young women’s wing of Muhammadiyah, has implemented the family resilience agenda outlined at the 48th Congress (Muktamar).

Speaking at the 94th Anniversary Ceremony of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah on Saturday, May 31, Busyro highlighted the important role women play in shaping public ethics, especially through their influence in the family.

Reflecting on his own experience growing up in a Muhammadiyah environment, he reflected on how deeply the movement instills values of integrity and service.

However, Busyro expressed concern over the growing challenges facing Indonesian families today. According to Busyro, families are experiencing increasing pressure in their role of raising future generations. While wives have the power to guide their families with strong moral values, their influence can also have negative consequences if misdirected.

“A righteous wife, especially one married to a public official, plays a major role in shaping her husband’s moral integrity. If she upholds strong values, the institution her husband leads is likely to be far less corrupt,” he said.

On the contrary, Busyro warned that when a wife acts as a negative influence, encouraging her husband to seek personal gain through public office, the risks to public trust and national integrity increase significantly.

Because of this, he encouraged Nasyiatul Aisyiyah and ‘Aisyiyah to continue spreading their positive values and commitment to integrity. He believes this kind of influence can reach women across the country and help shape a better future.

“I hope all of you stay committed to learning and sharing meaningful knowledge, especially knowledge that benefits others,” he added.

Busyro also emphasized the essential role of women in religion and nation-building, supporting the belief that women are the foundation of both. He concluded by calling on the younger generation to help strengthen Indonesia, starting with strong, value-driven families.
