MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SORONG — A heartwarming video of a new student at Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (UNIMUDA) Sorong has gone viral on social media, capturing the hearts of many Indonesians. The video, shared on Instagram account @viral.no1 on Wednesday, September 4th, features Leonard Madai, affectionately known as Amoye, who explained his inspiring reason for choosing to become a teacher.
In the video, Amoye, dressed in his new university blazer, introduced himself enthusiastically.
“Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Let me introduce myself. My name is Leonard Madai, but you can call me Amoye. I was born on April 27, 2006, in Tepakopi Village, West Panjai District, Panjai Regency, Central Papua Province,” said Amoye in the video.
Amoye, a native of Papua, shared that recently graduated from SMA Negeri 1 Panjai Timur. He is now a freshman at the Faculty of Language, Social Studies, and Sports Education, majoring in Indonesian Language at UNIMUDA Sorong.
The most touching part of the video was when Amoye revealed his motivation for choosing the teaching profession. “
“In my village, there are no teachers, so I decided to become one. That’s the reason,” he said simply, followed by cheers from his group.
