President of ‘Aisyiyah Highlights Progressive Women at Pakistan Branch Inauguration

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, PAKISTAN – The Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Special Branches play a crucial role in extending the reach and impact of these movements on a global stage.

President of ‘Aisyiyah Salmah Orbayinah emphasized that the branches represent the movements’ commitment to fostering progressive women and performing international missions.

“Since its establishment, ‘Aisyiyah has evolved into a progressive organization to perform da’wa in the context of society, faith, nationality, and universal humanity. ‘Aisyiyah has contributed to the development of this nation,” said Salmah in the inauguration of the leadership of the Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Special Branch (PCIM & PCIA) of Pakistan on Saturday, October 12.

She further emphasized the indispensable role of ‘Aisyiyah members, particularly those serving in foreign branches such as PCIM and PCIA of Pakistan.

Besides, Salmah also highlighted the importance of implementing the “Risalah Perempuan Berkemajuan” (A Treatise of Progressive Women), which outlines the qualities of progressive Muslim women. These qualities include strong faith, devotion, good character, a spirit of renewal, moderation, righteous deeds, and inclusivity.

“The implementation of the Treatise of Progressive Women is essential. The characteristics of a progressive woman include being devout, pious, virtuous, possessing a spirit of renewal, being moderate, engaging in righteous actions, and being inclusive,” said Salmah.
