MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SIDOARJO – Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Syafiq Mughni emphasized the importance of progress for Muslims since Islam is a progressive religion.
Muhammadiyah construes the progressive values and principles through actions, including establishing Muhammadiyah institutions such as Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah higher education institutions.
Indeed, the progress of Islam is for not only Muslims but all the whole world since Islam is rahmatan lil alamin (a mercy to the whole world).
“These Islamic teachings encourage people to become advanced societies, nations, and communities,” said Syafiq at the commencement of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) on Saturday, October 26).
Muhammadiyah commitment to progress leads to the organization’s reach to international levels. For instance, Muhammadiyah has special branches in thirty countries across five continents and eight sister organizations.
“They have shown significant achievements in realizing the vision of an Islamic society as envisioned by Muhammadiyah,” Syafiq said.
Meanwhile, Syafiq congratulated UMSIDA on its achievements, both nationally and internationally, and commended the graduating students for completing their studies at such a prestigious institution. He highlighted the vast network of Muhammadiyah as a valuable asset for the graduates.
“The extensive network of Muhammadiyah is a great advantage for those who choose to study at Muhammadiyah institutions,” said Syafiq.
