MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SIDOARJO – The Muhammadiyah Provincial Board of East Java held halalbihalal (a post-Ramadan) gathering on Saturday, April 26, at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (Umsida). The event brought together Muhammadiyah members and activists from across the region to strengthen unity and reflect on the organization’s ongoing mission.
In his speech, Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Board Syafiq Mughni emphasized the importance of silaturahim, or maintaining good relationships, as the heart of the gathering. He also highlighted Muhammadiyah role in responding to local, national, and global challenges.
“Muhammadiyah is not just an organization. It’s a movement and a state of mind,” said Syafiq.
Syafiq described Muhammadiyah as a well-organized Islamic organization, but more importantly, a dynamic force with real contributions to society. He pointed to forums like the Muhammadiyah Business Network and programs such as the Indonesia Planting Movement as examples of how the organization brings its vision to life.
Syafiq also reminded the values of patience and consistency developed during Ramadan, which are essential in continuing the organization’s mission.
“Patience doesn’t mean giving up or being reckless. It means staying committed, having resilience, optimism, and hope in Allah’s mercy,” said Syafiq.
During the event, Syafiq officially launched Umsida Cyber Security Services (UCS), a new digital platform developed by Umsida to support public safety and well-being.
“This service is a meaningful contribution from a Muhammadiyah university to help improve society,” he said.
Closing his remarks, Syafiq encouraged Muhammadiyah members to continue working together, strengthen the organization, and embrace a forward-thinking mindset to help create a peaceful, fair, and secure society.
“Through this gathering, let’s renew our commitment to Muhammadiyah noble mission, to build a better nation and contribute to a more just world,” said Syafiq.
