MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID- YOGYAKARTA- A peaceful life will not be achieved if life is full of violence occurring in a family, community, nation, and world.

President of ‘Aisyiyah Siti Noordjannah Djohantini mentioned that Islam doesn’t does not condone violence. Values of tolerance and respect have to be instilled in domestic life, in husband-wife relations, between children and family members.

“I believe Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah are done with that because these movement grasp religious teachings and values from the point of view of tarjih. If we would like to promote peace, we have to begin from our family,” Noordjannah said at the Perempuan Mengaji program on Saturday (27/8).

According to Noordjannah, TK ABA (‘Aisyiyah kindergartens) become places for children to cultivate and reinforce values of peace.

Two thousands of TK ABA are areas where children learn to value their friends and live with others. If they’re taught hostility because of differences such as religions and races, they won’t be able to face life and its complex challenges.

“Almost each ‘Aisyiyah branch has an early childhood education institution, and it’s where we prepare and take care of our children to confront social life. It’s a place where we create peace,” Noordjannah said.
