MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, AUSTRALIA – The State Government of Victoria has officially pledged support for the Muhammadiyah Australia College (MAC) by providing a grant of AUD 3.6 million, or around IDR 38 billion. This funding is part of the state’s commitment to inclusive and multicultural education.
Secretary of Muhammadiyah Muhammad Sayuti informed the grant would be used to develop school infrastructure, improve learning facilities, and increase student capacity at the MAC.
“This support indicates recognition for Muhammadiyah efforts in providing high-quality education that promotes diversity,” said Sayuti on Tuesday, April 29.
He added that this grant is separate from the regular funding the Victorian Government already provides to MAC. In 2025, the school is set to receive an additional IDR 35 billion in operational support.
Sayuti also shared that the Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Australia is currently planning to open the second Muhammadiyah Australian College in Sydney, New South Wales (NSW). The project is a collaboration between PCIM Australia and the Muhammadiyah Special Subbranch of NSW.
“There’s great potential for MAC II in New South Wales because of the strong population growth, both from local residents and newcomers,” explained Sayuti.
