MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, WARSAW – General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti discussed possible collaboration between Polish and Indonesian people with Polish Mufti, Tomasz Miśkiewicz, at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Warsaw.
“We shared information, experiences, challenges, and opportunities for cooperation between Indonesian Muslims, especially Muhammadiyah people, and Polishs in various areas,” said Abdul Mu’ti on Friday (September 15).
Abdul Mu’ti mentioned that Muhammadiyah offers scholarships for Polish Muslims to pursue higher education in Muhammadiyah-‘Aisyiyah institutions.
“May this short meeting lead to collaboration between Polish and Indonesian Muslims, particularly Mhammadiyah,” wished Mu’ti.
Abdul Mu’ti also said that Tomasz visited Indonesia and the Muhammadiyah Office in 2011, so Mu’ti invited Tomasz to come again.
Besides, Tomasz Miśkiewicz mentioned that 100,000 of 37 million Polish people are Muslims. Although they are a minority, they have no difficulties performing their religious practices since the government supports them.
