MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Two figures of Muhammadiyah were honored at the 75th-anniversary celebration of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted on Thursday, December 19.
Saiful Deni, Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Maluku Utara, received the UGM Award for his outstanding contributions to community empowerment and poverty alleviation. Concurrently, Susanti, a lecturer at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, was recognized for her significant research in pathology and molecular pharmacology of cancer.
These accolades join the prestigious Hamengkubuwono IX Award bestowed upon Muhammadiyah Chairman Haedar Nashir for his exceptional contributions in education, social, political, and humanitarian fields.
Expressing his gratitude, Saiful Deni, an alumnus of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UGM, emphasized the profound impact of his education at the university.
“The knowledge gained at UGM has been valuable in my endeavors. I am committed to utilizing this knowledge to benefit society,” said Saiful Deni.
Similarly, Susanti expressed her pride in receiving the award and her commitment to academic excellence.
“As an educator at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, I am dedicated to cascading the knowledge I have acquired from UGM and Muhammadiyah to my students,” she stated.
