MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SLEMAN – ‘Aisyiyah has officially begun the construction of TK ABA Semesta, a early childhood education institution designed to meet the changing needs of education with a forward-thinking and global approach.
President of ‘Aisyiyah Salmah Orbayinah explained that the school continues ‘Aisyiyah’s commitment to early childhood education.
“Education, according to ‘Aisyiyah, is the key to transforming the nation’s future. The establishment of the Froebel School was part of our effort to help advance the country,” said Salmah at the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, June 3, in Gamping, Sleman.
TK ABA Semesta is not intended to replace existing TK ABA but to strengthen and complement them by offering innovative and strategic solutions to today’s educational challenges. True to its name, TK ABA Semesta will take a global approach, not only in academics but also in preparing students to engage with the world.
Salmah hoped that the school would welcome children from a variety of cultural and national backgrounds. This diverse environment, she believed, would help students learn empathy, tolerance, and respect for differences which are important values in today’s interconnected world.
The school will also provide multilingual education, not just to help students communicate, but to open doors to new cultures and experiences.
TK ABA Semesta will stay grounded in core values such as ethics, moral character, local culture, and most importantly, religious teachings.
“These are the foundation of our approach to education,” added Salmah.
Meanwhile, Sleman Regent Harda Kiswaya praised the initiative, describing it as a meaningful contribution to national development through education. He said ‘Aisyiyah has played a significant role in supporting the community through inclusive and child-friendly learning environments.
“This isn’t just about building a school. It’s a real commitment by ‘Aisyiyah to create a positive impact through education,” he said.
Harda also emphasized that education is a shared responsibility. All Indonesian children, he said, deserve access to quality learning in terms of both curriculum and facilities.
“It’s not enough to focus only on science. We also need to shape students with strong Islamic character,” he added.
He believed that TK ABA Semesta would be able to meet the demands of modern education and become a leading kindergarten that grows together with the community.
