Muhammadiyah Sends More Cadres to Study in Morocco

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – The Central Board of Muhammadiyah (PP Muhammadiyah) has once again sent five cadres to pursue undergraduate studies at Darul Hadith el-Hasaniyyah, Morocco, through an official scholarship program.

The students come from various provinces, including West Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, and West Papua. The send-off ceremony took place at the Muhammadiyah Da’wah Center Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/10).

The event was attended by Maskuri, Head of the Overseas Scholarship Team of PP Muhammadiyah; Cecep Taufikurrohman, Head of the Middle East Scholarship Selection Team; and representatives of the Department of Islamic Boarding School of PP Muhammadiyah.

In his remarks, Maskuri advised the scholarship awardees to purify their intention in tholabul ilmi and to become true mujahid in their field of study. He expressed his hope that the students would complete their studies on time and return home to serve the Muhammadiyah movement.

“Life abroad will be different from what you’re used to. Adapt well and make the most of the guidance provided by the Muhammadiyah Special Branch Board (PCIM) in Morocco,” he said.

Maskuri also expressed hope that the number of Muhammadiyah scholarship awardees to the Middle East will continue to grow in the coming years, as a part of the effort to produce a generation of globally minded Muhammadiyah scholars and intellectuals. (Bintang Adrian)
