MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Muhammadiyah cadres who are pursuing studies abroad, especially in the Middle East, are urged to make the most of their learning opportunities and be ready to serve the nation and the community upon their return to Indonesia.
The message was conveyed by Fathurrahman Kamal, the Chairman of the Council for Religious Opinion and Reform of Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP Muhammadiyah) during a visit by the Muhammadiyah Special Branch Board of Libya (PCIM Libya) to the Muhammadiyah Tabligh Institute.
Fathur emphasized that studying overseas, particularly in the Middle East, is a privilege that one should not take for granted. Therefore, cadres should take full advantage of this opportunity.
“Gain as much knowledge as you can directly from the experts. When the time comes to return to Indonesia, we must be ready to give our best to the nation, the community, and the county,” Fathur said during the meeting held on Wednesday (15/10).
Meanwhile, Fadhil Novel Abdullah, the Chairman of PCIM Libya, expressed his gratitude for the message and stressed the importance of building collaboration between PCIM Libya and the Leaders Supporting Unit of PP Muhammadiyah.
“Synergy between PCIM Libya and the Central Board’s councils is crucial. It enables us to map out and identify what the community will need in the future,” he explained.
The meeting also discussed the development of Muhammadiyah cadres currently studying in Libya. Around 38 students are participating in the Muhammadiyah Mubaligh–Ulama Cadre Incubation Program, enrolled at Kulliyah Dakwah Islamiyah and Al-Asmariya Islamic University.
Additionally, both parties discussed plans to send new cadres for the upcoming 2025/2026academic year, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the regeneration and strengthening of Muhammadiyah ulama cadres at the international level. (Bintang Adrian)
