PCIM and PCIA Malaysia Participated in the Humane Economy Global Discourse 2026

EN.MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, KUALA LUMPUR—The Muhammadiyah Special Branch Board in Malaysia (PCIM Malaysia) and the ‘Aisyiyah Special Branch Board in Malaysia (PCIA Malaysia) participated in the Humane Economy Global Discourse (HEGD) 2026, an international forum held under the theme “Reclaiming Humanity for Shared Prosperity.”

Organized by the Forum for a Humane Economy (FEM), the two-day conference took place on Wednesday and Thursday (23–24/7) at the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

HEGD 2026 brought together academics, policymakers, community leaders, business practitioners, and civil society organizations from around the world to explore pathways toward a more humane model of economic development.

Through its theme, “Reclaiming Humanity for Shared Prosperity,” the forum advocated an economic paradigm that extends beyond growth and profit by placing greater emphasis on human dignity, social justice, environmental sustainability, and shared prosperity.

Advancing an Economy Centered on Human Values

Delegates from PCIM and PCIA Malaysia participated in a series of panel discussions, international dialogues, and idea-sharing sessions examining global economic challenges through the lenses of humanity, ethics, and moral values.

Aunillah Ahmad, one of PCIM Malaysia’s delegates, said the forum offered valuable insights into the importance of placing people at the center of economic development.

“The ideas presented at HEGD 2026 were highly inspiring,” Aunillah further said. “The spirit promoted by this forum aligns closely with Muhammadiyah’s commitment to advancing economic development without neglecting human values. We hope these principles can be translated into future programs undertaken by Muhammadiyah Malaysia.”

Shared Vision with Aisyiyah’s Empowerment Programs

PCIA Malaysia Chairperson Dini Handayani noted that Aisyiyah Malaysia’s community economic empowerment initiatives closely reflect the values promoted during the conference.

“The economic programs developed by Aisyiyah Malaysia aim to improve people’s welfare while prioritizing compassion, empowerment, and humanity,” Dini said. “For that reason, we see a strong connection between Aisyiyah’s mission and the vision advanced through HEGD 2026.”

The participation of PCIM and PCIA Malaysia reflects Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah’s broader commitment to expanding international partnerships in promoting human-centered economic development.

Looking further ahead, both organizations expressed their hope of continuing to engage in initiatives organized by the Forum for a Humane Economy (FEM). They also welcomed opportunities to develop practical, community-based economic programs through international collaboration, with the goal of generating broader social benefits across national borders and contributing to global human well-being.
