EN.MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SURABAYA – President of the Muhammadiyah Central Board, Haedar Nashir, has encouraged all Muhammadiyah members to make use of ChatHPT and become familiar with the platform.
ChatHPT is an AI assistant which helps users explore and understand Muhammadiyah’s body of Tarjih scholarship. Drawing on the Himpunan Putusan Tarjih (Compilation of Tarjih Decisions), it provides access to organizational decisions, fatwas, and various scholarly references through everyday conversational language.
“That is why I encourage all members and leaders to become familiar with ChatHPT. This will help prevent misunderstandings in religious matters and ensure that people practice and observe Islamic teachings in accordance with ar-ruju‘ ila al-Qur’an wa al-Sunnah (returning to the Qur’an and Sunnah) and ijtihad (Islamic legal reasoning),” Haedar said on Thursday (5/11), after opening Muhammadiyah’s Tarjih National Conference at the Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya.
Haedar also praised the innovation developed by the Muhammadiyah Central Board’s Tarjih and Tajdid Council in collaboration with LabMU. ChatHPT, he said, provides the public with an easier way to find religious rulings issued by the council.
“This is an extraordinary initiative by the Tarjih Council, and its reach can extend further into society. The next step is to keep developing content on various issues and topics within the council’s scope. My thanks go to the programmers who made this possible. May this become a lasting act of charity,” he added.
ChatHPT Provides Easier Access to Organizational Decisions and Fatwas
Before sharing his remarks, Haedar tried ChatHPT firsthand. He said the platform made it much easier to find information because it provides comprehensive answers, including detailed explanations, conclusions, references, and sources. He expressed confidence that it would benefit both Muhammadiyah members and the wider Muslim community.
“Now it is much easier to find out about organizational decisions, fatwas, and various religious issues and agendas addressed by the Tarjih and Tajdid Council,” he said.
The newly launched ChatHPT is the result of collaboration among the Tarjih and Tajdid Council, the Library and Information Council (MPI), and LabMU.
ChatHPT is expected to serve as a bridge connecting younger generations with Muhammadiyah’s scholarly heritage while fostering a culture of reading, understanding, and critically tracing the sources of knowledge.
