A Cadre of the Muhammadiyah Special Branch of Iran Translates a Book by the First Lady of Iran Jamileh Alamolhoda
MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, IRAN—Lisyati Fatimah, a member of the Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PCIM) of Iran of 2023-2025, skillfully translated the book entitled “Islamic Education Theory: A Quranic and Philosophical Perspective” by the First Lady of Iran, Jamileh Alamolhoda, into Indonesian.
Lisyati Fatimah, a doctoral student in Contemporary Islamic Thought at Mustafa International University in Tehran, Iran, mentioned why she was motivated to translate the book into Indonesian. She believed the book could be a significant reference for education in Indonesia.
“Alamolhoda’s Islamic education theory explains the philosophical values of education in Islam with a distinctive feature of Islamic philosophy, hikmah muta’aliyah. The concept has not widely been known in the Indonesian education system, which has largely adopted Western education,” said Fatimah.
After the book was translated into Indonesian, it was officially launched at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam (STAI) Sadra on Tuesday (23/5), coinciding with the state visit of Jamileh Alamolhoda as the First Lady of Iran.
“This book has previously been translated into Arabic and English, and this is the third translation. However, there has never been a meeting and book launching like today,” said Alamolhoda.
At the book launch, she highlighted that her book presents a Quranic and philosophical perspective on education. She also gifted the 600-page book to the First Lady of Indonesia, Ibu Iriana Jokowi.
