MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, JAKARTA – Abdulhadie Ibn As-Shaheed Butuan Gumander, an adviser to the Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), visited the House of Representative of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) at Nusantara Building III, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Wednesday (25/1).
The Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly, Dr. H.M. Hidayat Nur Wahid, M.A. mentioned Abdulhadie representing Bangsamoro appreciated Indonesia, particularly Muhammadiyah, for playing roles in a peace agreement with the Southern Philippines.
“One of the greatest parties playing roles in the peace agreement Muhammadiyah, so I invited Dr. Muhyiddin Junaidi from Muhammadiyah to meet him. Muhammadiyah is a large Islamic movement trusted by Indonesian for a long time to help bring peace and dialogue for peace in the Southern Philippines,” said Hidayat.
The friendly visit also aimed to convey developments in the Philippines, where Muslims have received an autonomous government in Mindanao. Abdulhadie also hoped to get recommendations from Indonesia on a better future for Bangsamoro.
Hidayat said that this autonomy could be realized by strengthening integration and synergy to contribute to national security, economic progress, improvement in the quality of national education, and establishing relations with ASEAN countries.
“I told him that the most important aspect is that we as a nation and citizens of that nation, should seek and find the best, the most beneficial for the whole nation. Indeed. we may not trigger division, conflict, and problems. The autonomous government is a very good opportunity, in which Bangsamoro gets trust and should prove that the center government’s decree is not wrong are given trust and they must prove that the decision of the central government was not wrong,” said Hidayat.
At the end of the meeting, Abdulhadie and his entourage thanked the Indonesian people and Muhammadiyah for their attention.
