MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, PURWOKERTO — A teaching staff at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), apt. Susanti was elected Secretary General of the International Association of Indonesian Scientists (I-4). She was appointed with the affiliation of Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute, the United Kingdom (UK).
In a press release on Wednesday (25/1), the Extraordinary International Conference on Saturday, 14 January 2023 participated by Indonesian scientists from 28 countries associated with I-4 determined the secretary general.
“I would like to thank you for trusting me to be the secretary general and one of the main organizers of I-4 to work together with the Chair Dr. Sastia Prama Putri. May this position allow me to contribute to and develop joint research and innovation in this nation,” Susanti said.
Furthermore, the I-4 is the greatest scientist organization linking international collaboration in Indonesia by empowering scientists from various regions. I-4 has seven areas, namely the United States, Europe and Great Britain, the Middle East and Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and Australia.
“The vision of I-4 is to synergize all potential of Indonesian scientists worldwide to foster science and technology in Indonesia and to enhance the quality of Indonesian human resources,” Susanti mentioned.
In addition, Susanti is the inventor of the BioColoMelt-Dx Kit (a molecular diagnostic tool for colon cancer detection). This tool obtained a distribution license from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia on July 1, 2022. This BioColoMelt-Dx is the first cancer molecular diagnostic product produced in Indonesia.
The BioColoMelt-Dx Kit is good news for patients in Indonesia and the world since they can find out the gene mutation, get appropriate treatment, and detect whether or not they will suffer colon cancer due to genetics.
