MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, EGYPT – Muhammadiyah, through Muhammadiyah Aid and the Muhammadiyah Department for Charity Management (Lazismu), provided medical equipment to support Palestinian refugees receiving treatment at the Palestine Hospital in Egypt. The donation includes two defibrillators, one diathermy machine, and two dental health devices.
Director of the Palestine Hospital Muhammad Ramadhan expressed his appreciation for the aid, emphasizing its importance in helping medical teams care for patients.
“This support means a lot to us as we treat Palestinian survivors and refugees every day. Our hospital urgently needs medical supplies, and Muhammadiyah assistance allows us to provide better care for patients in critical condition. Thank you, Muhammadiyah,” depressed Muhammad on Thursday, February 27.
Muhammad added that the hospital receives 50 dialysis patients daily, each requiring three therapy sessions lasting up to four hours.
“With the dialysis equipment provided by Muhammadiyah, we can now treat more patients,” he said.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Palestine Red Crescent Society Tarek Arafat praised Muhammadiyah ongoing support. He noted that Lazismu was among the first organizations to step forward, showing not just material support but also true solidarity and brotherhood.
“The partnership between the Palestine Hospital and Lazismu has existed for a long time. Lazismu has been one of the first organizations to provide direct aid, donating two defibrillators, one diathermy machine, and two dental health devices,” said Tarek.
Tarek emphasized how crucial this support is for both the hospital and patients arriving from Gaza.
“This aid is a big help, not just for the hospital but for the many patients we receive daily,” added Tarek.
Tarek also acknowledged the deep empathy shown by Muhammadiyah and Lazismu toward the suffering of the Palestinian people.
“They feel our pain. Thank you Indonesia. Thank you, Lazismu. Thank you for all the support you are showing,” expressed Tarek.
Tarek also prayed that Allah would bless Muhammadiyah and the Indonesian people for their generosity.
“We hope this partnership continues as it is vital in our fight for humanity and justice for Palestine,” said Tarek.
Besides, Secretary of Lazismu Gunawan Hidayat reaffirmed Muhammadiyah commitment to supporting Palestinian refugees.
“Muhammadiyah is dedicated to helping the Palestinian people in every way we can. This is not just about compassion but also about upholding the humanitarian values that guide our movement,” stated Gunawan.
Gunawan also emphasized that the aid was made possible through donations from Indonesians through Muhammadiyah Aid and Lazismu.
“We continue to encourage people to contribute to this humanitarian mission to help ease the suffering of the Palestinian people,” said Gunawan.
