MUHAMMADIYAH. OR. ID, SURABAYA – The new tagline Home of Champions truly suits Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (UMSURA), following the success of Rizky Ridho Ramadhani in football, new champions have now emerged in futsal.
They are Samuel Eko Putro and Israr Megantara, who successfully led the Indonesian National Futsal Team to win the gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
Samuel and Israr delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament. Samuel was regarded as one of the decisive figures in Indonesia’s victory, contributing crucial goals in the final match. Meanwhile, Israr consistently maintained the team’s rhythm and overall solidity.
This gold medal marks a historic moment for Indonesia’s national futsal team at the SEA Games and serves as clear evidence of Indonesia’s growing readiness to compete at higher levels.
In response to the remarkable achievement of his students, UMSURA Rector Mundakir expressed high appreciation. He emphasized that this success is not only a source of pride for the athletes themselves, but also for the university and the nation.
