MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, BOGOR – Muhammadiyah’s mission is to establish and uphold a genuinely authentic Islamic community. However, the implications of this mission go beyond benefiting Muslims alone, as it extends to the well-being of the entire world.
Muhammadiyah’s core objective logically leads to the concept of Islam as rahmatan lil alamin (a mercy to the whole world). As a result, even non-Muslims can experience the positive impact of Muhammadiyah’s presence.
“Thus, non-Muslims need not fear Muhammadiyah’s ideology. The teachings of Islam, when put into practice, bring benefits not only to Muslims but also to non-Muslims,” said the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Anwar Abbas in the preaching conducted by the Muhammadiyah Regional Board of Bogor on Sunday (July 23).
Animals also benefit from Islamic teachings through the humane method of animal slaughter, as Islam strongly emphasizes compassion and proper treatment of animals, both before and during the slaughtering process.
Abbas advised approaching Allah’s revelations with a pure heart and a rational mind. Muhammadiyah believes intellectual clarity is vital to understand and analyze the teachings in the Qur’an, Sunnah, and the world around us.
Furthermore, to accomplish Muhammadiyah’s objectives, Abbas recommended Muhammadiyah members refer to the “Matan Keyakinan dan Cita-cita Hidup Islami Warga Muhammadiyah” (MKCHM/The Fundamental Beliefs and Aspirations of Islamic Life for Muhammadiyah Members).
“According to the MKCHM, Muhammadiyah is an Islamic movement that serves as a place for Muslims devoted to following the guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah, aligning their thoughts and hearts with Allah’s teachings,” said Abbas.
