MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – As the humanitarian crisis in Palestine continues, Muhammadiyah remains committed to supporting Palestinian independence and human dignity through consistent and meaningful efforts.
President of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir emphasized this commitment and highlighted Muhammadiyah long-standing role as one of the most active Islamic organizations in helping the Palestinian people.
“Muhammadiyah is the only organization that has consistently provided significant support in many ways. We’ve donated a large amount of money, and many Palestinian students are now studying in our universities on scholarships,” said Haedar Nashir at SM Tower Malioboro on April 15.
Haedar also shared that Muhammadiyah has long supported Palestinian refugees by establishing two schools in Beirut, Lebanon, for Palestinian children living there.
Haedar stressed that the support Muhammadiyah provides is part of a broader commitment to global humanitarian values and reflects the Islamic principle of rahmatan lil ‘alamin (Islam as a mercy to the whole world).
“Our assistance should be moderate but sincere. We want our support to be impactful and meaningful, without going to extremes,” said Haedar.
Haedar encouraged all Muhammadiyah members to continue contributing to the organization’s growth. He believes that strengthening Muhammadiyah’s educational, health, and social services will enhance its ability to serve not just the Muslimsy, but also universal humanity.
“If Suara Muhammadiyah and all our efforts continue to grow with your support, Muhammadiyah will become even stronger and more impactful for the people, the nation, and humanity,” he said.
He concluded by encouraging the entire Muhammadiyah members to take part in this mission, reminding them that the organization’s progress is not just for its own benefit, but also for the greater good of society and the world.
