The distribution was personally carried out by Vice Chairperson of the MPM Ahmad Ma’ruf, a member of the MPM Adib Nurhadi, leaders of the Muhammadiyah Regency Board of Berau, and leaders of the MPM of the Muhammadiyah Regency Board of Berau. The distribution and visit indicated Muhammadiyah commitment to supporting these communities since 2016.
“Besides delivering the Rendangmu cans to approximately 170 residents in the two villages, this visit aimed to strengthen our relationship with the communities we have been supporting. The distribution of Rendangmu is also a way to promote Lazismu (the Muhammadiyah Department of Charity Management), which has produced this canned meat product,” said Ma’ruf.
Village representatives and the management of the Al Hidayah Mosque in Baturajang received the Rendangmu.
“The distribution of Rendangmu symbolizes Muhammadiyah presence in the indigenous Dayak Kenyah and Dayak Punan communities in East Kalimantan. Muhammadiyah commitment to these communities demonstrates our inclusive approach, embracing all people regardless of race or religion,” said Ma’ruf.
The villagers expressed their gratitude for the donation. Apliana from Kampung Longkeluh shared that Muhammadiyah presence has significantly benefited the community through knowledge transfer and agricultural practices. Darius Laway, the village head of Baturajang also stated, “We consider the MPM like a family. They have always shown care and concern for the people of Kampung Baturajang.”
